Charlie Aidinoff

Charlie is an experienced government affairs advisor having spent the last decade working at the intersection of government and the private sector. At Fontas Advisors, Charlie specializes in helping clients navigate and solve complex government challenges and creating partnerships between clients and government. He has worked extensively on legislative, procurement, budgetary, and regulatory matters.
Charlie brings a deep knowledge of New York City government, and relationships across the administration and with elected officials. He joined Fontas Advisors following 6 years at City Hall as part of the intergovernmental affairs team, first as a member of the City Legislative Affairs office and then working on the City’s mental health initiative ThriveNYC, a $250 million a year program to change the manner in which the City approaches mental health. He was responsible for developing and executing engagement with stakeholders for ThriveNYC. He worked at a large government affairs firm prior to taking a year of sabbatical to live and work in Paris.
While at City Hall, Charlie worked on hundreds of pieces of legislation and City Council hearings while cultivating relationships across all levels of government. Key legislative highlights include a legislative package boosting public health, the repeal of the Cabaret Law, and the expansion of the City’s gender equity laws. Additionally, he was part of the team responsible for negotiating budget and land use matters with the City Council. In the private sector, he worked on many deals including the reopening of Wollman Rink, the extension of to-go sales of alcoholic beverages, and several large procurements by the City.
Charlie was born, raised, and has spent nearly his entire life in New York City. He currently lives in Chelsea with his wife and Bernedoodle. Charlie holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University and studied at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris.
